Lazy Kreuzberg Saturday: Canals, Crows and Bocci Ball

Breakfast finished, we had vague intentions. Not a cloud in the big sky. Every leaf in the city bursting forth in green. 75 degrees on the dot.
“How ’bout we just wander around?”
“Sounds good to me.”
So we did. And not much more. Ate some falafel. Drank a few beers. Wandered further.
Apparently the whole city had the same idea. Kreuzberg at least was out in force. Fields of faces following the burning star like sunflowers. Fragrant clouds from grills wafting. Music and happy conversation in the air. The clack of Bocci balls. The clink of spoons and plates from cafes. Waves lapping at the canal banks.
Even the crows were goofing off.
And at the end of the day, as the sun drifted down behind the horizon, we found ourselves on a boat tied to a beach-covered bank of the river, back on the Friedrichshain side of the Spree, both with stupid smiles lazing on our faces.
The city was so relaxed and happy, fireworks spontaniously erupted. No…I swear…I have pictures to prove it!
