fiddling with the blog again. I should give up and go with hot pink or something…

I really don’t know why I started messing. One of the mortal sins no less. Vanity, or something. Is stupidity a sin? Now I am so far in, turning back is no longer an option.
I fucking hate blogging. What a waist of time what color my blog is, how many widgets it has…the fucking vocabulary kills me. I don’t want to know what makes a post “sticky” or what makes a post whatever the opposite of sticky is. I just want to write and make radio. Dammit.
Be back up soon. Don’t mind me.
Lazy Kreuzberg Saturday: Canals, Crows and Bocci Ball

Breakfast finished, we had vague intentions. Not a cloud in the big sky. Every leaf in the city bursting forth in green. 75 degrees on the dot.
“How ’bout we just wander around?”
“Sounds good to me.”
So we did. And not much more. Ate some falafel. Drank a few beers. Wandered further.
Apparently the whole city had the same idea. Kreuzberg at least was out in force. Fields of faces following the burning star like sunflowers. Fragrant clouds from grills wafting. Music and happy conversation in the air. The clack of Bocci balls. The clink of spoons and plates from cafes. Waves lapping at the canal banks.
Even the crows were goofing off. Read the rest of this entry »
Berlin’s spring springing

The past two weeks in Berlin, the weather has been dangerous.
“Unseasonably warm,” the meteorologists say. And all of nature followed suite. All of nature.
Ka-boom. Two weeks ago the trees and lawns were barren and scarred. Today they are flush with lush color.
The air is sweet with flowers and hormones. The parks are full. Every hand has an ice cream cone. Skirts are swaying. Cloths are discarded. People lay about everywhere, half-naked, ravaged by the sun.
Walking down certain streets can be dangerous. The cherry and apple blossoms especially can overwhelm, leaving you almost dizzy with perfume to the point you want to make out with the next thing you see. Read the rest of this entry »

Part 2 and 3 of the “The Winter of My Bad Haircuts” thing I started with the first short.
Again, it’s text I wrote last time we lived in Berlin, edited down a whole ton and mixed with sounds of Berlin recently recorded.
I was waiting for some reason to post these but I’m getting too impatient in our fast paced interwebbed world…so I figure I’ll just post them now and get on with it.
Pt. 2 ‘It’s Raining Again’
Pt. 3 ‘Bagdad is a Bitch’

Radio Eggs and Toast
So I’ve long asked myself what could be a modern way of reaching the masses of people. My real love is print of course. I would love to cut and paste and ink and set and work the print machines and all that grand old-school literate stuff…but alas that has fallen to ‘old fashion’ and I am left to find a new way to publish. Something modern and…you know, jive with what’s hip?
